Research

Laura Arcidiacono is an experimental physicist. Her master theses work aimed to verify the success of the Time-resolved Prompt Gamma Activation Analysis neutron technique, developed by the SWING group team. For her PhD, Laura is working on an international and interdisciplinary project on integrated neutron techniques applied to Archaeometallurgy. Part of her PhD is focused on Archaeometric analysis and part is devoted to technique development for the optimisation of gamma spectroscopy setup at pulsed neutron sources. She also participated to several campaigns of measurements at ISIS Spallation Neutron Source, Paul Scherrer Institute and Diamond light Source. Her PhD is currently based at ISIS spallation neutron source.

Laura was co-author on the paper ‘Egyptian Grave Goods of Kha and Merit studied by Neutron and Gamma Techniques‘ on the prestigious chemistry journal Angewandte Chemie which published a special virtual issue on heritage science.
