Enrico Preziosi, PhD is an experimental physicist with a PhD in Biophysics. His research has been focused on Medical Physics and, more specifically, on gamma-detectors for imaging devices in Nuclear Medicine, especially for Positron Emission Tomography. Currently, he is involved in TECNOMUSE project, which purpose is the development of a muon tomography scanner for the examination of containers to prevent radioactive and hazardous threats. In addition, he is the co-founder, CEO and CTO of an innovative Start-up company having the aim to develop an innovative gamma-detector for Radiation Protection.

Research Activity
I am an experimental physicist with a PhD in Biophysics.
My research has been focused on Medical Physics and, more specifically, on gamma-detectors for imaging devices in Nuclear Medicine. I have worked on the optimization of X-gamma radiation detectors for Gamma-cameras, Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET). With Sapienza University, I have been a researcher in the context of the MINDView (Multimodal Imaging of Neurological Disorders) European project in which my work was the optimization of the detectors composing a head-dedicated and MRI-compatible PET scanner.
I have skills in the development of Monte Carlo simulations for medical, radiotherapy and radioprotection applications and I am competent in many Medical Imaging techniques, especially Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and multi-modal imaging applications, too. In addition, I have a good knowledge in Neuroscience, Biochemistry and Atomic Force Microscopy.
From 2017, I’m the co-founder, CEO and CTO of the ERMES IT S.r.l., an innovative Start-up company which aim is the development of a novel detector for ionizing radiations and its market entry in the field of instrumentation for Radiation Protection.
Currently, I’m involved in TECNOMUSE project, which purpose is the development of a muon tomography scanner for the examination of containers to prevent radioactive and hazardous threats.
