The NAST Centre is an interdisciplinary research and training center operating at the forefront of nano science, nanotechnology and related instrumentation.
The NAST community is dedicated to perform cutting-edge research in the fields of matter and materials at the nanoscale, with applications to energy and environment, human health, space science, heritage science. The NAST Centre, founded in 2006 and based at University of Roma Tor Vergata, promotes scientific innovation and technological excellence through its multi-disciplinary research laboratories.
The Centre combines basic science with application-orientated research and development of innovative instrumentation, fostering relationships that enhance the transition of basic research results to applications. The Centre has a unique operating model with combine, in a synergic way, the human capital skills of University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, across several key departments: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Medicine, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
The Centre houses a wide range of research equipment and specialized tools for synthesis, characterization, and integration of hard and soft nanomaterials and for the design and construction of innovative instrumentation. It operates in strong relationships with nanotechnology and commercial communities and is involved in many major national and international collaborations.
